Imperial system of construction (Feet Inches) is still very much in use at remote locations in india. Beams, slabs etc allow input of mm in decimal range for equivalent "in" cross section, such functionality is unavailable in coumns and I have to opt for an approximate design (nearest 5mm multiple). Either RCDC should inculcate "in" units for dimension inputs in column design or provide decimal unit equivalent to input in sizes.
I beleive this process can be made really easy as it requires provision of inputs only. Rest design process can be carried out by providing an equivalent mm conversion for "in" input in backend. I'd like to contribute my further inputs in this matter should the team decide to take up this idea.
PS
I understand your provision of drawing manager for a similar purpose, however this doesn't cater to column design.
The portal can be accessed from the same Bentley Communities page for Ideas, https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/i/ and selecting the STAAD Foundation Advanced option. This should be changed soon. This will take you to the portal for all STAAD Concrete design ideas:- https://ideas60647bentleysystems1.ideas.aha.io/
Thank you for posting this idea. However, there is a separate portal for registering ideas related to the RCDC application and I will move this idea to that portal.
