Subgrade Modulus Range Limitation in STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024
STAAD Foundation Advanced 2024 restricts the subgrade modulus to a range of 400-120,000 kN/m²/m. This limitation prevents accurate modeling of soil conditions outside this range, which is necessary for my current project. The subgrade modulus values from my geotechnical study exceed this limit, impacting the precision of the foundation design. Therefore, I respectfully request that you evaluate the possibility of either expanding the allowable range or removing this restriction in future software updates.
These limits were set since we have found users sometimes get their units wrong. For example, if the correct value is say 5000 kN/m2/m, but the user is not paying to the units field, he/she may enter the value in kip and inch units or KN and MM units. To guard against such errors, we thought enforcing lower and upper bound limits would be a good solution. We will include your suggestion to our backlog.
