Metric Computations Staad foundation Advance V24

Implement a function in STAAD Foundation Advanced (SFA) v24 that allows, as it was done in previous versions of the software:

  • Automatically generate detailed metric computations for the designed foundations.

  • Include the "Excavation" item with the option to customize calculation parameters (e.g., excavation depth, slopes, etc.).

  • Present the metric computations in a clear and organized format within the design report.

Thank you for posting your idea in the “Ideas” channel. Please find the response to your original questions.

Your request: Automatically generate detailed metric computations for the designed foundations.

Response: STAAD Foundation Advanced does produce detailed design reports in metric units. Please see the attached design reports for a combined footing. However, this application gives you a chance to customize your report in terms of the contents that you would like to have in the report. So, you would need to select the specific foundations and items therein to produce the report. It is not done automatically as was done in version 9.

Your request: Include the "Excavation" item with the option to customize calculation parameters (e.g., excavation depth, slopes, etc.).

Response: We can add this as an enhancement in the program. We need to discuss this internally before we come back to you with a direction on this.

Your request: Present the metric computations in a clear and organized format within the design report.

Response: We already do so. Please refer to the attached report again. You can choose to customize the contents that you want to be reported.

We suggest you try the recent versions of the new SFA program - SFA 2023 and SFA 2024. It provides bill of quantities for concrete and steel. It can currently handle isolated and combined footings and mat foundations for the ACI and Indian codes.
